To find books about a director or film:

In the Durick Library: search the Library Catalog
Search a topic by keyword (Keyword Anywhere AND with Relevance).  Occasionally, the Library has a book solely on one director's films.  You can try searching the director's lastname firstname as a Subject. 

Beyond the Durick Library:  search
WorldCat
WorldCat contains over 50 million records of books, Web resources, and other material owned by libraries worldwide.  You may use Interlibrary Loan to request books not owned by Durick Library.

Find Full Text Film Reviews:

 

  • Academic Search PremierTo find film reviews:  Choose Advanced Search.  Enter film title in Find box.  In drop down menu, select "PS Reviews & Products".
  • LexisNexis Academic
    Select "Guided News Search". Under "Select a News Category", choose "Arts & Sports News." Select "Book, movie, music & play reviews" for reviews or "Entertainment News" for feature articles.
     
  • New York Times Current text only
    New York Times Historical includes images M
    To find film reviews:  Choose Advanced Search.  Type film title in box and choose "Article title" from the drop down menu.  Use second box (AND) to type the last name of the film director.
