America Reads
America Reads is a nationwide program designed to improve literacy among children. Volunteers sign up for the program and make a semester commitment to read to children for one hour per week. At Saint Michael's, volunteers read at the daycare on North Campus, or in local schools and family centers. America Reads is very flexible; readers have the opportunity to choose their location, time, books, and any other activities pursued like coloring or just having a casual conversation. The program is extremely rewarding and great experience for those looking to work with children.
