The college is working hard to provide alternative (more sustainable) options when it comes to getting to and from campus (as well as around campus).

FREE GMT Commuter Pass to all Students, Staff and Faculty

Saint Michael's College is a proud member of GMT's Unlimited Access Program. All students and Saint Michael's employees can ride GMT for free! The program is funded by the college as a benefit of enrollment and employment. With convenient routes all over the Burlington area, why use your own car! For route information, visit GMT's website.

Solar Powered Electric Vehicle Charge Stations

During the summer of 2011, Saint Michael's College and Green Mountain Power partnered to install 2 electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot near Klein Hall (also installed were solar panels on the roof of Klein Hall to offset the electricity usage from the charging stations).

Bike Infrastructure on Campus

We have over 20 bike racks scattered about campus to keep your bicycles safe (provided you properly lock them).  Check out a map of where to find them on main campus.

Thanks to funding from the student environmental club, Green Up, there is a Bike Fix-It station between Alliot Hall and the Dion Student Center (it’s a bright SMC purple, you can’t miss it). This station comes with many basic tools, a bike pump and a stand so you can make quick repairs to get you back on your bike.

Sugarbush Ski and Ride Program

Saint Michael's College provides all undergraduate students in good academic standing with a season pass to Sugarbush for just a small fee. To get to the mountain, students have access to weekend bus transportation (FREE) from campus to Sugarbush through the winter months (be sure to sign up for the bus with the Adventure Sports Center).

Campus Vehicle Fleet

Currently the college has 7 non plug-in hybrid vehicles in its fleet and 2 100% electric trucks
