Major: English Literature

I loved all the time I got to spend outdoors both with the Wilderness Program and at Smuggs and Stowe.

I am interning at Team Rubicon in Los Angeles, a non-profit that unites veterans and first responders to provide disaster relief. In September 2015, I will begin my Master's in International Disaster Management at the University of Manchester in Manchester, England.

The leadership, logistics, and operational experience I gained as a student leader in the Wilderness Program has been invaluable to me in my professional life after St. Mike's, both during my time at JetBlue and now in my work with Team Rubicon.

It's rare to find a school that is located in a great town for nightlife and so close to outdoor pursuits all year. I took advantage of every minute I spent there, I stayed in Vermont after St. Mike's for many years, and I still think of the area as home.

Nat Lewis' pushing me to tell him something he didn't already know and Will Marquess' patience and kindness and urging to always dig have stayed with me to this day.

Get outside! The schoolwork is important, but take advantage of your time in Vermont by getting outside in the mountains, on the lake, and everywhere in between, it will teach you just as much.
