Right after graduation, I took a job with Starwood Hotels, which is the company I had done an internship with while at Saint Michael's.
I was a biology major, but my internship was through the business department because I took a lot of business classes too. For the last two and a half years I've been with Expedia, managing the Las Vegas market for them.
I think the liberal arts education at Saint Michael's prepares and encourages you to keep learning, inspired by the passion our professors showed not only in academics but in their personal lives. The constant search for knowledge and education was important, and that learning extends beyond a classroom.
I was born and raised Catholic and went to St. Mike's thinking I knew a lot about Catholicism but I learned so much that I ended up minoring in Religious Studies.
I had the good fortune to be involved in many other things like LEAP retreats with Campus Ministry. I also did yearbook and was a varsity field hockey player all four years, and I did some mentoring that paired younger girls and athletes. Life-changing activities like these make you want to take classes and courses that stretch your limits and make you a better person.
