Center for Multicultural Affairs

The Center for Multicultural Affairs is an intercultural center for all American and international students. The Center is part of Student Life and provides programming, cultural competency and diversity training, counseling, and transition and adaptation services for our students.  We also serve as a resource for faculty and staff both in and out of the classroom.

In a diverse, globally and culturally interconnected world, the center provides students with the tools they Students in the Alliot Student Centerneed to be successful in any setting, while at the College and after they graduate. Students involved in the center work closely with faculty as mentors, serve as mentor for their peers and are mentored by their peers. Students become engaged in various leadership opportunities both on campus and nationally.

The environment of the center is multilingual and multicultural, thus the exposure students get to languages and cultures help increase their cultural competence and ability to interact and be friends with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

We offer a vibrant, engaging and intellectually challenging environment where important conversations, discussions, presentations and peer forums take place. We believe students grow through engagement, participation and thoughtfully planned activities. Our ultimate goal is to help students develop and grow into mature, competent and well rounded socially aware young adults who will be leaders in our society and the world. We also believe that one-on-one support is a better approach to address the specific needs of students and we strive to give students opportunities to be their best selves.
