Office of Ambassador Programs

The Ambassador Program is an opportunity for U.S. American students to live with International students currently enrolled in the Applied Linguistics Department (ALD).  The Ambassador Program allows for students from different cultures to live together and to become involved in social and educational programming about cultural differences and similarities. The program provides the opportunity for cross-cultural friendships.

Additionally, it is the goal of the Ambassador Program to enhance the living and learning community at large with the ideas of appreciating differences, of tolerance for change, and of an expanded world view for all of the students, staff and faculty at Saint Michael’s College. Currently, the program is comprised of 36 American students of all class years and 45 International students depending on the time of year. Housing options for first year areas are double rooms (1 undergraduate/1 international student).  For upper-class students, housing options are double rooms or four person suites (2 undergraduates/2 international students) or eight person suites (4 undergraduates/4 international students).  These  suites do not have kitchens.
