Some students are billed for damages to their living area which are considered beyond normal “wear and tear.” Charges are placed on a student’s individual account. In most cases, charges are split between roommates, housemates or suitemates, however there are some exceptions (i.e. in individual bedrooms in townhouses or if something was pointed out to a staff member upon checkout).
Students have the ability to appeal damage charges. Damage appeals must be submitted electronically with the following information by February 1, 2008 for any Fall semester damage charges and July 1, 2008 for any Spring semester damage charges:

Where you lived during the 2007-2008 academic year
Amount you are appealing
Reason(s) for the appeal
