Returning from your Study Abroad Experience

Your study abroad experience is not an isolated activity that has a definite beginning and end.  Instead, studying abroad is a life-changing event, both personal and academic, that continues to develop and evolve long after you have returned home. You will find yourself changed, but perhaps not in the same ways as your own culture and friends. Your academic and personal goals may be different and you may now relate more to our own international students on campus than you had before.

To help you ease back into your new life at Saint Michael's and Vermont, we have a variety of events and opportunities for you to enjoy:

**Study Abroad Reunion with a formal "Welcome Back" and an informal party

**Re-Entry & Reflection Support, both individual and as a group, to give you more opportunities to talk about your experiences abroad, to learn from these experiences, and to incorporate the best of your study abroad into your life.

**Study Abroad Career Workshop to help you define your study abroad experiences into information you can use on your resume, in job interviews or for graduate school.

** Opportunities for you, as a study abroad returnee, to share your experiences with others. Volunteer your time to participate in the study abroad fair, presentations, panels and information tables. Help to create new and exciting returnee events!

**Study Abroad Graduation Sashes are beautiful silk sashes designed in the flag colors of the country in which you studied abroad. These sashes, available for purchase, are for you to wear over your graduation robe, giving you recognition for your study abroad experience while at Saint Michael's College.
