Home Run

St. Mike's is a Home Run

Tom Caron

"When young people talk with me about jobs or internships I urge them to not just think about broadcasting but to get a liberal arts degree, to learn journalism and especially to learn to write."

After Tom Caron '86 graduated from Saint Michael's, he became one of New England's most recognized sports journalists. He's the host of New England Sports Network's Red Sox coverage, a sports columnist for the Portland Press Herald and a frequently heard voice on sports talk radio.

Tom credits his passion for sports journalism to his St. Mike's education: he was a journalism major with a solid liberal arts degree, and got a hands-on start in broadcasting by calling play-by-plays for Purple Knights hockey.

At Saint Michael's, you'll find a place where you can pursue your interests and find your passions. Whether you're interested in biology, journalism, business, research, service or the great outdoors, St. Mike’s can help you discover your path and support your explorations, on a welcoming and dynamic campus just a few minutes from Burlington, VT, one of America's great college towns.
