Majors: Economics and Mathematics
Graduate degrees: PhD, Rutgers University; Masters in Mathematics, University of Vermont
What do you do for a living?
I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Lynchburg College.
I teach principles of microeconomics, research methods, and a perspectives course. I just started in August and love working with students in addition to researching education policies with respect to community colleges.
How did your experience at Saint Michael's help prepare you for your career?
I had amazing professors who taught me the importance and exciting aspects of research oriented work. They opened the door to academic life for me and encouraged me to continue on in graduate work.
What is your favorite memory from your time at St. Mike's?
Dr. Ramazani's quotes - my favorites being "drinking warm milk under the Winooski bridge," and "underwater basketweaving." It was Dr. Natarajan though, who made microeconomics so enticing that I switched majors - I am forever indebted to her enthusiasm!
Any advice for St. Mike's students?
The professors at SMC care about your growth as a student - let them help you develop and find your career path. There are so many options as an economics major after graduation!
