Best tip for students coming for a campus visit
Take tons of photos! Sometimes it's hard to tell colleges apart, especially if you’re looking at a group that are very similar. Taking photos on my college tours helped me to remember my visit to campus and the distinguishing factors that I liked about that specific school.
Favorite thing about Burlington
All the shows that they bring! Even though Burlington may seem small, I've been able to see amazing comedians, professional plays and musicals, and my favorite musicians. Whether it's at the Flynn, the Vermont Comedy Club, or shows on the waterfront or at Shelburne Museum, there’s always so much going on and so much to choose from (plus the outdoor venues are so beautiful!)
What do you enjoy most about being an admission counselor?
Being able to help students find a connection to St. Michael's. Whether it's through sports, theater or a specific academic area of interest, it is so satisfying to help a student envision themselves as a Purple Knight.
St. Michael's allows you to explore a variety of classes and subjects before you have to decide upon a major, which not only allows you to open your mind to classes you may not have originally tried taking, but also helps you to see what you want to focus in on. When I began at St. Mike's, I wasn't sure what I wanted to major in. I took advantage of the liberal arts core classes and was able to find not only one, but two majors. Exploring different subjects I had never taken classes in before helped me to find what I was truly interested and passionate about.

"I see my path, but I don’t know where it leads. Not knowing where I’m going is what inspires me to travel it."
- Rosalia de Castro
"People who don't travel cannot have a global view, all they see is what's in front of them. Those people cannot accept new things because all they know is where they live."
- Martin Yan
