The FAFSA is the only application required to be considered for need-based financial aid at Saint Michael’s College and it's now easier than ever to apply.
Earlier & Easier
The 2018-19 FAFSA will be available October 1, 2017 – three months earlier than before. The federal government is making the FAFSA available earlier to facilitate financial aid awarding and provide students and families with more time to apply for aid and compare college costs.
You'll report 2016 income information on the 2018-19 FAFSA.
When filing your FAFSA, look for the FAFSA-IRS Data Retrieval Tool to automatically complete income tax sections of your FAFSA. The FAFSA-IRS Data Retrieval Tool streamlines the application process and reduces the need to provide supplemental documentation.
With an earlier FAFSA:
• There is no need to wait until college applications are submitted before applying for aid;
• Aid awards may be available earlier;
• Students & families will have more time to understand and compare college costs and value.
Submit the FAFSA online at fafsa.gov.
Financial Aid Awards
If you are applying for Fall 2018 admission, submit your FAFSA in October to ensure your financial aid award is issued as early as possible in 2018. Please note that federal grant awards may be estimated until the federal budget is finalized and most state grants will be finalized in spring 2018 when state budgets are approved.
2018-19 financial aid awards for returning students will be available in late May or June 2018 after spring term grades are complete.
