On Tuesday, October 13th at 5:00 p.m., Rick Bass will speak on campus for the Finding Common Ground – Building a Shared Blueprint for People and Planet lecture series hosted by the Institute for Environment.

Rick is the author of more than 30 books of fiction and nonfiction, much of which explores the natural world and our relationship to place. He began his career as a petroleum geologist before transitioning to writing full-time, and his work as a writer has been closely connected to his environmental advocacy, particularly his efforts to protect wilderness in Montana’s Yaak Valley. He has received numerous honors for his writing, including the Story Prize and a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship.

Please join us in welcoming Rick Bass!
