"Women Voted Here - Before Columbus" Lecture

Author, lecturer and activist, Dr. Sally Roesch Wagner, will give a virtual talk to the Saint Michael’s College community entitled “Women Voted Here – Before Columbus” in celebration of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 pm ET. Dr. Wagner, one of the first women in the country to receive a PhD in women’s studies, will talk about the Haudenosaunee women (traditional Iroquois) who had the responsibility of placing their men in leadership roles and had far more status and power than their white counterparts. You will receive a Zoom link to join the event by email.

Her talk is sponsored by the Vermont League of Women Voters, the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, and the Vermont Humanities Council.
