DESCRIPTION:The Duty to Vote \nMonday\, October 14\, 2024\n4:30 PM – 6:00 PM (ET)\nDion Family Student Center Roy Event Center \nDr. Julia Maskivker will deliver a lecture titled “The Duty to Vote\,” the subject of her Book of the same title\, critically acclaimed for its argument that citizens have a moral duty to vote. Dr. Julia Maskivker is a Professor of Political Science at Rollins College in Winter Park\, Florida. She specializes in political theory and political/social philosophy. Her research focuses on democratic theory\, exploring the ethics of participation with an emphasis on the morality of cooperative action in democracies. Her scholarship on justice\, global ethics\, and citizenship has helped put Rollins in the national spotlight since she came to the College in 2009.
