DESCRIPTION:Dr. Marc Watkins\, Director of the AI Institute for Teachers\, will speak at Saint Michael’s College as part of the First Year Seminar program’s exploration of AI. Watkins will discuss the idea of “agency” and how communities worldwide are discussing the need to renew humans’ sense of purpose\, even as machine intelligence mimics human thought. Vice President of Edmundite Mission Fr. David Theroux\, SSE\, will offer a short response to Watkins’ remarks before a Q&A.
