The Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) major integrates three disciplines to examine complex social, political, and economic issues. Students develop skills in critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and ethical analysis while studying justice, governance, and economic systems. The curriculum blends foundational and advanced interdisciplinary coursework. Graduates gain expertise in policy analysis, constitutional law and philosophical argumentation, preparing them for careers in law, public policy, business, and government service.

Curriculum

New program beginning Fall 2026

Saint Michael’s College is updating its academic offerings to better align with evolving workforce needs and to enhance resource efficiency at St. Mike’s. These changes will strengthen the interdisciplinary learning and societal engagement already inherent in a Saint Michael’s education while staying true to our liberal arts vision and mission.

In Fall 2026, this major will combine facets of the exising programs Philosophy and Ethics, Economics and Political Science for incoming students.
