Due to hurricane Helene that has caused significant damage in the southern U.S.\, the American Red Cross is at an even more critical need for blood donations as blood drive cancellations resulted in a loss of collecting 1\,500 units of blood. Each blood donation can help save multiple lives\, and an estimated 29\,000 units of blood are used to treat patients in the U.S. every day.\n\nPlease consider donating blood\, and sign up for your appointment with this link: https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=SMC\n\nWe are also looking for volunteers to help with set-up\, check in/registration\, and sitting with donors.
