Saint Michael’s College proudly recognizes Donald “Don” R. Dion, Jr. ’76 as Alumni of the Year, honoring his exceptional professional achievements, sustained leadership, and extraordinary commitment to the College and its students.

A 1976 graduate with a degree in business and economics, Don has built a distinguished career spanning finance, law, and entrepreneurship. A former CPA, attorney, and corporate executive, he founded or co-founded multiple successful financial firms, including Litchfield Financial Corporation and Dion Money Management, both of which grew into nationally recognized organizations. Most recently, he served as CEO of Inland Management Corporation and Corbel Capital NLP, LLC before retiring in 2023. Today, he continues his work as the leader of DRD Investments, LLC, a family office managing hedge fund and real estate assets.

Don’s professional accomplishments are matched by his deep and enduring commitment to Saint Michael’s College. Over the years, he has served four terms on the Board of Trustees, helping guide the College’s strategic direction and strengthen our future. His visionary philanthropy has left an indelible mark on campus, most notably through the Dion Family Student Center, a central hub of student life that reflects his belief in the importance of community, connection, and the student experience.

In addition to this transformative gift, Don has established numerous scholarships, opening doors of opportunity for generations of Purple Knights, and has supported initiatives such as Saint Michael’s College athletic retreats at Saint Anne’s Shrine. His leadership and generosity have earned him recognition as a member of the College’s Heritage Circle and the Society of Mont-Saint-Michel.

Throughout his career and his service to Saint Michael’s, Don has exemplified the values at the heart of the College: leadership grounded in integrity, a commitment to stewardship, and a deep belief in giving back. His impact continues to be felt across campus—in the spaces students gather, the opportunities they pursue, and the lives they shape.

Don Dion’s legacy stands as a powerful testament to the lifelong bond between Saint Michael’s College and our alumni, and to the enduring difference one Purple Knight can make.
