Heidi St. Peter ’96 of the Purposeful Learning Office won the Edmundite Founders’ Award during the annual staff awards ceremony in late September.

Heidi St. Peter ‘96 this summer became the College’s become its first director of purposeful learning. Heidi spent her St. Mike’s undergraduate student days as an English major and ardent volunteer with strong mentors, and later returned to leadership roles for the MOVE program in Edmundite Campus Ministry before taking on more recent key roles in academic support and Academic Affairs. The new position emerged from recent work on the College’s new Strategic Plan that aims to identify thoughtful ways forward, keeping pace with the present fast-changing higher education universe and the College’s determination to thrive within it. She said in essence she sees the position as “repackaging and reimagining all the good basis of our Saint Michael’s education.”

Heidi St. Peter has accepted a new role at Saint Michael’s as assistant dean for advising and student development and began work in that role this past summer. Heidi received her bachelor’s in English from Saint Michael’s and her master’s in higher education and student affairs administration from the University of Vermont, and she has been an essential part of Saint Michael’s College for the last 15 years. As director of MOVE, coordinator of peer tutoring, and most recently director of academic support, Heidi has worked closely with students, staff, and faculty across the college to design and coordinate campus-wide programs in community engaged learning, new student orientation, and academic enrichment and support.
