Dr. Leo Patrick Flanagan, D.D.S. ’59

DR. LEO PATRICK FLANAGAN, D.D.S, died October 17, 2023. He was valedictorian at his high school, Newman Preparatory School in Boston. After Saint Michael’s he went on to attend Georgetown Medical and Dental School. In 1967 he opened a private practice for dentistry and oral surgery in Braintree, MA, where he practiced for 50 years. He was known as a pioneer in oral surgery as one of the first doctors to perform implantology in the Boston area. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: time with family, working around the house, exercising and time on his boats. Leo was a President’s Medallion supporter of the College. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Demetra, two daughters including Alison Guard ’94, two brothers, a sister and extended family.
