Jeffrey J. Atkinson, Agoura Hills, CA, died August 5, 2024, while swimming on a beautiful beach in the Hamptons, NY.
A dedicated family man, Jeff, also known as “Atky,” grew up in Norwalk, CT. He was a faith-filled man who volunteered broadly, serving on the Right to Life committee, with Habitat for Humanity, as a church lector and on the Village Homes and Annandale Homeowners Association boards.
He recently retired from working in real estate following many years in the tech industry including being a sales rep for General Electric in New York in the 1980s. Jeff was a sports fanatic, whether playing golf or watching his favorite teams: Dodgers, Rams and Kings.
He played hockey from middle school through his college years at Saint Michael’s and served as an enthusiastic soccer referee during his daughters’ school years. Jeff was known for his laugh, puns, quick wit, analytical mind, and supportive, compassionate nature. He was an avid reader and enjoyed The New York Times crossword puzzle and Julie’s students’ written stories. Over the years, Jeff cared for family dogs.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 42 years, Julie, two daughters, three siblings including brother Gregory Atkinson ’76, and extended family.
