Peter E. Proulx, Enfield, NH, died November 16, 2023. Pete was born in Burlington, VT, and was a Korean War veteran, stationed in Texas, Alabama and then in Japan as a U.S. Air Force chaplain assistant, from 1950 to 1954, between his sophomore and junior years as a Saint Michael’s student. He recalled once his daughter being born during his senior year while he and his wife were residing in “Mike Town.”

After Saint Michael’s he worked for a time at GE in Burlington as a cost accountant and later as a budget analyst at GTE Sylvania in Needham, MA, from 1963 until he retired in 1992, having risen to manager of the Area Accounting Office serving GTE’s Government Systems Corporation East Coast Operations.

Pete was a man of deep faith who loved his family and friends dearly. He and his late wife spent many years as volunteers at the Espousal Retreat House and Charismatic Renewal Servies Office They were active in the Espousal Prayer Community, where his wife was librarian and Pete was treasurer. They also belonged to several small prayer groups and enjoyed traveling to shrines and attending various religious functions.

Pete’s wife, Virginia K. (Ginny), died in 2005, and a son also predeceased him. He is survived by three sons, including Gerald “Jerry” Proulx ’82, a daughter and extended family.
