Campus-community kids enjoy Christmas party

December 5, 2016

Children frolicked and chased each other through Green Mountain Dining Room, made holiday crafts, had their faces painted and got to meet with some holiday characters. Parents greeted their friends and shared in the holiday spirit.

Saint Michael’s annual Christmas party for alumni, faculty and staff’s children was put on by the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations. Allison Sherman-Gardner, ’05, assistant director for that office, was in charge of the event.

Student volunteers from the Founder’s Society helped put this event on. Some dressed as Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen so kids could have their pictures taken with them. Other volunteers painted children’s faces and led craft-making.

“Not only is it an opportunity for St. Mike’s students to do crafts with kids and have a fun time in the holiday spirit, but it’s also a fantastic way to connect with alumni, staff, and faculty,” said student volunteer Chris Holloway ’17. “The Saint Michael’s community is like an enormous family, and events like this are a way to connect with those distant relatives that you may not know too well, or may never have met before.”

Santa and Mrs. Claus sat in front of the Christmas tree listening to children’s holiday wishes. Christmas cookies and treats were aplenty, spreading holiday cheer to everyone on this December afternoon.
