The Edmundite Center for Peace and Justice is sponsoring a panel discussion, “Nicholas Black Elk, Lakota Spirituality, and Catholicism on the Pine Ridge Reservation” on March 28, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. in the Roy Event Room of the Dion Family Student Center.
Panelists are: Robert Brave Heart, MA, Arizona State University, Executive Vice-President of Red Cloud Indian School, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota; Damian Costello, PhD, University of Dayton, Ohio, author of Black Elk: Colonialism and Lakota Catholicism; and Professor Jerald Swope, MA, Missouri School of Journalism, University of Missouri, Missouri, department chair and associate professor of Media Studies, Journalism & Digital Arts at Saint Michael’s College
