New program beginning Fall 2026
Saint Michael’s College is updating its academic offerings to better align with evolving workforce needs and to enhance resource efficiency at St. Mike’s. These changes will strengthen the interdisciplinary learning and societal engagement already inherent in a Saint Michael’s education while staying true to our liberal arts vision and mission.
The new Nutrition major will prepare students for careers and graduate study in nutrition and allied fields. Through this major, students will gain important skills in reading and evaluating scientific literature, communication, and a solid foundation in nutrition sciences through a combination of courses taught on campus and online through the RIZE program. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects steady growth in employment in this sector from 2023-2033 as awareness of nutrition’s role in treating diet-related diseases and preventive care grows.
