About Me

I study political violence, extremism, authoritarian populism, and the ways political myths and conspiracy narratives shape identity and political behavior. My teaching interests also include constitutional and international law, democratic theory, and American politics. Before entering higher education, I spent eight years as a social studies teacher and have worked on several political campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. These experiences continue to shape both my research and how I approach the classroom. Outside of academia, I enjoy traveling, hiking and mountaineering, and reggae music.
