James M. “Jim” Spilman ’49

James M. Spilman died on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 11:11 at St. Barnabas Hospital . He was 93. Born in Dover, NJ, he lived in Rockaway Twp. for 64 years.

He served in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Spilman was a Packaging Specialist at Picatinny Arsenal prior to his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Church in Rockaway Twp.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Spilman; three children: Frances Spilman of Rockaway, Susan Gruesser of South Orange and James Spilman of Rockaway; and nine grandchildren. His wisdom, kindness and humor will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
