Jeanette Knoblock Finney, known lovingly to those closest to her as “Snipper” and “Tessa,” passed peacefully away on July 11, 2026, at her home in Incline Village, Nevada, just three days before her sixty-second birthday. She was born on July 14, 1964, in Teaneck, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Henry “Hank” and Margaret “Peg” Knoblock.

Jeanette graduated from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont, in 1986 and went on to build a distinguished career in finance, rising to a Senior Vice President of BankBoston over her career of fourteen years. Her determination and sharp intellect propelled her through every endeavor she pursued, whether professional or personal.

In 2001, Jeanette married John Douglas “Jack” Finney in her favorite place, on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Together they traveled the world and built a life across three beloved homes: one at Lake Tahoe, one in the heart of Boston, and one in Monterey, California. Their partnership was one of adventure, laughter, and deep companionship.

Jeanette was a woman of remarkable generosity, thoughtfulness, and great wit. An expert snowboarder and avid hiker in her earlier years, she was always up for an adventure, a spirit perhaps best illustrated by the fact that she attended Burning Man twice in the ’90s. She was also an avid reader who found endless joy in the written word.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; her brothers, Henry and Stephen; and her sisters, Irene and Suzanne. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Claire.
