John (Skip) H. Kenworthy III, 80, of Milford, beloved husband of 49 years of the late Patricia (Marconi) Kenworthy, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. Born on August 30, 1945 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late John H. and Anita (Guimond) Kenworthy II.

John is survived by his sons – Christopher (Anissa) Kenworthy, and Matthew (Giacoma Venditti) Kenworthy; his beloved grandchildren, Fiorella, Olivia, Scarlett, Matteo and Coleman; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, John was predeceased by his sister, Linda Bonavia and brother, Brian Kenworthy.

John grew up in Stratford where he attended Frank Scott Bunnell High School and graduated in 1963. He obtained his B.A. from Saint Michael’s College in 1968, where he was honored with the title of Golden Knight after 50 years of loyal membership in Saint Michael’s College Alumni Association. He went on to teach in the Waterbury school system and then pursued a career in Information Technology, working for various companies, finally landing at the State of Connecticut.

John, or Skip as he was lovingly known, was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan and loved going to games. He brought his family on numerous vacations up and down the Eastern Seaboard, ranging from amusement parks to various historic sites, as he was a huge history buff. Skip was a traveler alongside his beloved wife Patti, who would drag him from cruise ship to cruise ship exploring the beauties of Alaska or Nova Scotia, or road trips to Boston and Cape Cod, amongst several other U.S destinations. He was his sons’ #1 fan and was always present in the bleachers, which continued with his grandchildren and all their ventures.
