Leland S. Abbott ’66
LELAND S. ABBOTT, Post Falls, ID, died May 13, 2023, a few months after his mid-January move from southern California to Idaho. A Connecticut native, Lee was a creative writer. After Saint Michael’s he attended the University of Redlands, California, and finished his master’s in creative writing at California State University, San Francisco (now SFSU). He possessed a curious mind and enjoyed meaningful conversations with friends and family, who often looked to him for advice and wisdom, or to hear his many stories of living and working in San Francisco. With an intelligent, witty and thoughtful personality, he had an unwavering and fierce passion for studying the written word alongside other research and creative writing. He loved wide-open spaces, clean air, late-night fishing, fine cigars, fine dining and good scotch and red wines. He is survived by his first wife, artist Deborah, his second wife of 21 years, Cynthia (now Quinonez), a daughter and extended family.
