Mark L. Prelli ’73

Mark L. Prelli, Winsted, CT, died November 21, 2023.

After earning his Saint Michael’s psychology degree, Mark was an insurance agent with the Prelli Agency in his hometown of Winsted before changing careers and working as a mechanic, welder, and maintenance supervisor for over 30 years at Butternut Basin Ski Area. He and his wife enjoyed 10 happy years of retirement with family and friends.

A devoted husband and father, Mark’s first priority was always his family. He enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of nature through gardening, fishing, working, and simply spending time in the great outdoors. His devotion of service extended beyond the family circle into the community in his roles as a long-time member of Riverton Congregational Church, past Master of Riverton Grange #169, an active member and Treasurer of the Winsted Volunteer Fire Department, Engine 3, and past Master of St. Andrew’s Lodge #64 in Winsted.

Mark is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cynthia (“Cindy”), a son, a daughter, a brother, a sister and extended family.
