SOUTH CHINA, MAINE – Matthew A. Hill, age 54, died Friday, June 19, 2026 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Fairfield, CA on July 4, 1971 as a son of Floyd C. and Arlene (Timberlake) Hill.

Mr. Hill was a graduate of Edward Little High School and earned his bachelors degree from St. Michael’s College in Vermont. Matthew referred to himself as an amateur professional photographer, and enjoyed sharing the world through his lenses.

He had been employed for over 25 years by the State of Maine, Department of Human services as a Social Worker.

Mr. Hill was pre-deceased by his mother, Arlene (Timberlake) Hill.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Michelle L. (Wadsworth) Hill of South China; two sons: Stephen Wadsworth and Jonathan Martinez both of South China; his father, Floyd C. Hill of Waterville; two sisters: Lynne Hill of Lewiston and Amy Hill of Augusta; a brother, Michael Hill of Mt. Arlington, NJ as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At his request, there will be no public visiting hours. A brief graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 8th at 1 PM at Lakeside Cemetery, Livermore.
