Michael A. Carrano ’67
Michael A. Carrano, Williamsville, NY, died July 30, 2024.
Born and raised in the Bellevue section of Schenectady, NY, Michael was a standout football player at Bishop Gibbons High School. In high school he met Annetta Carrano, and together they embarked on a lifelong journey together.
After undergraduate studies in biology at Saint Michael’s, Mike continued his education at Union College for his graduate degree in teaching. He spent his entire career as a teacher in the South Colonie school district, where he became a mentor and inspiration to many students. His unique blend of humor, discipline, and knowledge left a lasting impact on countless young minds.
After retiring, he and Annetta moved to the Buffalo area to be closer to their son. Michael found joy in golfing, watching Notre Dame football, going to the Saratoga Racetrack and spending time with his grandson. He had an unwavering commitment to those he cared for.
Michael is survived by his wife, Annetta, a son and extended family.
