Paul Charles Lakschewitz of Los Angeles CA and Southport ME, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

Paul was raised in Belmont MA by his parents, the late George and Margaret (Lehan) Lakschewitz.  He was predeceased by his elder brother, George Lakschewitz, and his younger sister, Ann Sheehan.  Paul was a graduate of St. Luke’s School, Belmont MA, St. Patrick’s High School, Watertown MA and St. Michael’s College, Colchester VT.  He moved to Los Angeles CA in 1974 to start what would be a career of more than 30 years with Hilton Hotel Corporation.

The happiest days for Paul were in Southport ME, where he spent each summer from the time he was a child.  He loved walking the loop near his house, working on a project, boating around Boothbay Harbor or enjoying lunch at Trevett Country Store or lobster and steamers at Round Pond. Paul’s signature dinners prepared on his Weber charcoal grill became the essence of summer for many of his family and friends. “Uncle Paul” to most who knew him, shared his favorite spots in Maine with all who visited.

Paul is survived by his niece, Emily Lopez, and her husband Carlo of Marblehead MA and their children Nicholas and Margaret, and William J. Sheehan IV, and his wife Elizabeth, of New York NY and their daughters Louise and Katherine and Paul’s brother-in-law, William J. Sheehan III of Boston.  Additional survivors include Paul’s cousin Richard O. Kershaw and his wife, Elizabeth, of Belmont MA; their children Richard O. Kershaw, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Naples FL along with their three daughters, Leah, Meghan and Catherine; David O. Kershaw and his wife Melissa of Belmont MA, along with their sons David, jr. and Ryan; Kevin O. Kershaw and his wife, Megan, of Westwood, along with their children Grayson and Vivienne.  Paul had the good fortune to be “adopted” into the Nicolaou family of Los Angeles CA.  He is survived by Carl (Deborah) Nicolaou and Emile Nicolaou, and longtime friend Claudia Nicolaou.  Paul shared many holidays with the Nicolaou’s, along with graduations, Carl’s wedding and the births of Carl’s children, Sophia and Christian.  Paul also leaves behind many former coworkers, friends and neighbors in Los Angeles and in Southport.
