Raymond H. Nadeau

Biddeford

Raymond H. Nadeau, 93, of Biddeford, passed away early Wednesday morning on
March 5, 2025 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Biddeford on November 11, 1931, a son of Ernest and Merilda
(Croteau) Nadeau. He grew up, lived in, cherished and contributed to the Biddeford
community his entire life. It is also where he met and married the love of his life,
Frances Masse, and that love and commitment grew throughout an incredible 68
year period.

Ray graduated from St. Louis High School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s
Degree from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant during the
Korean Conflict.

Ray was employed with Equitable Assurance for 27 years as an Account Director,
managing their Northeast Portland, ME area operations.

Just prior to and after retirement, Ray turned one of his passionate hobbies into a
small business for several years. He shared this passion with family and friends,
something that kept him engaged and busy in various capacities right up until his
passing.

Over his incredible 93 year journey, some of his favorite pastimes were going to the
races at Scarborough Downs, going to the beach, traveling with his wife to
destinations such as Florida, Las Vegas, Montreal and Quebec. He also cherished
the time spent with family, participating in Cub and Boy Scouts, Little Leage
Coaching and Umpiring and eventually following the activities of his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his wife Frances Nadeau on March 27, 2024, by one son
Guy Nadeau on May 5, 2002 and by two sisters Doris Nadeau and Evelyn Nadeau.
He is survived by one son David Nadeau and wife Terry, two grandchildren Ryan and
Chris, nieces, nephews and a large number of dear friends that he considered
family.
