Richard P. Sparks ’69

RICHARD P. SPARKS, Hudson, MA, died December 26, 2022. Born and raised in Pittsfield, MA, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Army after Saint Michael’s, honorably serving during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1973. He had a long and successful career working as a planning manager for several defense contracting companies such as G.E., Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon. Richard was a very intelligent person and had an uncanny ability to retain information and facts, which included a vast knowledge of sports. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working on word and number puzzles, as well as keeping up with world events and politics. During a busy career, Richard spent his free time gardening and working together at home with his wife, Mary Lee. He always put his family first. He is survived by his wife, three children, four grandchildren, and extended family.
