William F. “Bill” Costello ’69

William F. Costello, 78, of Naples passed away on April 21, 2026 surrounded by family and prayer. Bill’s earlier years were spent in Willimantic, Connecticut and Burlington, Vermont where he graduated from St. Michael’s College in 1969. After running a successful bar in Burlington, he moved to Naples in 1979 with his future wife Marylou. Bill worked in various restaurants in Naples, and also taught school for a while. Bill was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a gentle caring grandfather, He was the kind of man who always put his family first–going out of his way to make sure everyone was taken care of, supported, and loved. His kindness and honesty were evident in everything that he did and his strong work ethic was something he instilled in his sons, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue through them He had a true passion for life’s simple joys, especially when it came to food. Bill was an incredible chef, known for making meals that brought people together. Running, weekly golf and basketball rounded out his free time. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marylou and by his three sons Billy, Chris (Daissy), and Matthew (Paula) and a grandson Cooper all of Naples, Fl. Family was always important to Bill and he remained close to his brothers John (Liane) of Dana Point, California; Bobby (Diane) of Huntsville, Alabama and Larry (Nancy) of Peachtree City, Georgia. He was predeceased by his sister Jean and his parents Bill and Kay. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
