Hillary Miller ’15
We are pleased to honor Hillary Miller, class of 2015 as an alumna of the year in recognition of her extraordinary career in healthcare, deep commitment to social justice, and inspiring dedication to service in the spirit of the Edmundite tradition. A passionate advocate for health equity and compassionate care, Hillary’s work reflects the values at the heart of a Saint Michael’s education—faith in action, global citizenship, and service to others.
Currently completing a family nurse practitioner residency with community health centers, inc. In Connecticut, Hillary brings over a decade of hands-on experience in community health to her clinical practice, including six years as a registered nurse in Philadelphia. She has dedicated her career to serving the most vulnerable—providing care to unhoused populations, advancing reproductive healthcare, and engaging in street medicine initiatives that meet people where they are, both literally and figuratively.
Her scholarly contributions have gained national attention. In 2024, Hillary earned her doctorate in nursing practice from Rutgers University–Camden, where she was named the recipient of the DNP Outstanding Clinical-Family Nurse Practitioner Student award. Her doctoral project, a reproductive health protocol for women with unstable housing, was published in the journal of nurse practitioners, providing a vital framework for improving healthcare access and outcomes for marginalized women across the country.
Hillary’s passion for service and global engagement was evident during her time at Saint Michael’s. A standout student and athlete, she was a member of the varsity volleyball and swim teams, served as secretary of athletics, and actively contributed to SAAC, MOVE, and campus ministry. Her desire to serve extended far beyond campus—participating in service trips to the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Brazil, South Africa, and the Cheyenne River Reservation. These experiences were documented in a thoughtful and widely read travel blog, showcasing her reflection, compassion, and global perspective. Her academic excellence earned her a VPAA summer research fellowship, and her campus-wide impact was recognized with the 2015 community service award.
Since graduating, Hillary has continued to give back to the Saint Michael’s community in meaningful ways. She has served as a class agent, a psychology practicum speaker, an alumni panelist, and a proud participant in regional Purple & Gold Day events. Her ongoing connection to the college and willingness to share her story with current students demonstrate a generous spirit and a desire to lift others as she continues to lead by example.
In honoring Hillary Miller with the alumna of the year award, we recognize a life of purpose, integrity, and impact. Hillary is not only a healthcare provider—she is a changemaker, a bridge builder, and a proud voice for those in need. She represents the very best of St. Mike’s, and her legacy of care and courage will continue to inspire for years to come.
