I’ve been incredibly happy with my decision to attend St. Mike’s for many reasons.

Part of what made it so appealing as an international student was the small class sizes and close connection with the professors. All of my classes in high school were like that, with smaller groups, teachers that care, and great discussion.

Another great point I would bring up is how valuable a liberal arts education is. At times, I considered attending an engineering school or a school more recognized for it’s Computer Science program (most of these being big, public schools) but the Core Curriculum here has granted me a lot in the way of intrapersonal skills and connections with the local community that are far more valuable than just a degree.

Finally, Vermont has a bit of a European flair itself and outsiders’ perceptions of the United States do not often encompass small, unique places like Vermont. For most students at my high school in the Netherlands for example, their entire view of the United States comes from controversial, political headlines – often forgetting the small, peaceful places with a great quality of life.
