Women in Leadership: A Conversation with Marianne Harrison

Wednesday, March 10 from 7:00-7:45 pm ET

As part of the College’s yearlong 50th Anniversary of Women at Saint Michael’s celebration and in honor of International Women’s Day, Marianne Harrison will join Krystyna Davenport Brown, the College’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement, to speak candidly about Ms. Harrison’s experiences as the first female President and Chief Executive Officer of John Hancock. They will also explore future trends for women in corporate leadership, advice for those interested in pursuing a career in the corporate sector, and how the pandemic has reshaped the workplace for women.

Marianne Harrison is President and Chief Executive Officer of John Hancock, the U.S. division of Toronto-based Manulife Financial Corporation. Ms. Harrison, who is based in Boston, has responsibility across all aspects of John Hancock’s operations. One of the largest life insurers and fastest growing asset managers in the United States, John Hancock supports approximately 10 million Americans with a broad range of financial products, including life insurance, annuities, investments, 401(k) plans, and college savings plans. Ms. Harrison graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in English and earned a Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is the current parent of a Saint Michael’s College junior.
