Each year, Saint Michael’s College honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and his vision of Beloved Community through programming, activities, and music. Dr. King’s Beloved Community is a global vision, in which all people share in the wealth of the earth (The King Center).
The theme of our 2026 convocation is The World House: the Interrelatedness of All Things, inspired by the last book written by Dr. King: Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? Dr. King envisioned the world as one home in which “we must learn somehow to live with each other in peace.”
The 2026 MLK, Jr. Convocation programming will focus on race and environmental justice in our world house.
