Faculty and Staff Programs

Looking to nourish the spiritual lives of the faculty and staff members on campus, these programs enrich the practice and knowledge of the Christian, Catholic and Edmundite tradition of the college community that are essential to the Catholic character and mission of the college.

Partners in Ministry

Partners in Ministry is an association of lay volunteers who choose to participate in the mission works of the Society of Saint Edmund. We are joined together as a community committed to the works of Christian service and to growth in the knowledge and practice of our faith through the experience of ministering to our neighbor. Some of the activities include:

  • Thanksgiving Turkey Drive
  • Supports Saint Joseph’s House
  • Dismas House Dinners (1st and 5th Friday evenings each month)
  • Monthly Pot Luck and Prayer (1st Monday, Sept. – May, 5:15pm)

For more information about Partners in Ministry, contact Stephanie Noakes at 802.654.2999.

Pontigny Society

The Pontigny Society is a faculty and staff focused program of Edmundite Campus Ministry whose purpose is to build up the Catholic character of Saint Michael’s College.

The Society provides faculty and staff with opportunities to enrich their practice and knowledge of the Christian, Catholic, and Edmundite intellectual traditions at the foundation of the institution, and promotes the integration of faith into the social and intellectual life of the college community. The Pontigny Society sponsors activities that foster spiritual development and opportunities for fellowship through prayer, worship and interfaith dialogue. Following the Edmundite tradition, emphasis is on the Eucharist, the Liturgy of the Hours, and celebration of the Church calendar in the belief that such prayer contributes to the culture of community essential to the Catholic character of Saint Michael’s College.

Pontigny Society Retreat

The Pontigny Society offers a retreat for members of the Pontigny Society who are counted among the faculty, staff or administration at Saint Michael’s College. Prayer, wonderful meals and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist give structure and inspiration to our time together.

Two retreats coordinated by the Edmundite Office of Campus Ministry are typically offered: one in September at St. Beniot du Lac, Canada and a second in May at the Wildflower Inn, Lyndonville, VT. For more information, please contact Anna Lester at alester@smcvt.edu.

Food for Thought

A program for staff and faculty of Saint Michael’s College where table fellowship intersects with faith, spirituality, and religion in a relaxed setting. For more information, please contact Fr. Brian Cummings at bcummings@smcvt.edu.
