Move Out Information

Move Out Process

UPDATE 5/20/20:  Saint Michael’s has been required by the Governor’s office to alter the move-out schedule again. We are unable to accommodate any move outs the weekend of 5/22-5/24.  All three dates have been rescheduled as noted below.  If you appealed to change your move out date to 5/22, 5/23, or 5/24, your new move out date will be 5/29, 5/30, or 5/31 respectively.

The order of move-out based on your last name. This schedule is dependent on the Coronavirus situation on campus and in Chittenden County. You will be notified if there are any additional changes to this move-out schedule. Everyone must adhere to this plan as the health and safety of our students and their families are our top priority. Please follow the move-out plan as outlined below and please remember to physically distance yourself from others you may encounter on campus. We expect that each student will be on campus for a maximum of 3 hours for your move-out. We expect that your living area will be left in the same move-in condition as you found when you arrived on campus in August. Please look for the self-service move-out hubs in your living area where you will be asked to return your keys and have access to trash bags.

Watch the Commencement Ceremony

Saint Michael’s has made the very difficult decision to postpone Commencement. We will preserve as much as possible of the celebration that recognizes your accomplishments and honors the class of 2020 for another date, ideally in-person. Rest assured also that your degrees will still be conferred on May 10 as originally planned, and that we will mail your diplomas to you. We will watch national developments and work to find a date as soon as possible that will provide the safe and celebratory event that you all deserve.

Note: Student leaders are collecting commencement ideas from the senior class and sharing these with the commencement committee. If you have ideas and suggestions, please be sure to reach out to them:

Dimitrios Stamoulis, Class President:  dstamoulis@mail.smcvt.edu

Arianna Boscia, Class Vice President:  aboscia@mail.smcvt.edu

Remote Instruction

For the health and safety of all students, faculty, and staff, we have decided that the remainder of this semester will be conducted through remote instruction. Understandably, this is sad news, especially for our beloved seniors. We fully understand your desire to return to campus, and we strongly wish that that were possible. We will continue to do everything in our power to make online learning as smooth as possible for you. If you are having any technical/computer connectivity challenges, please contact IT at 802.654.2020 or via email at ithelp@smcvt.edu.
