Todd Johnstone-Wright ’95, director of the College’s new Undergraduate Professional Endorsement program (or UPE), shared news this fall coming out of his work in the UPE office and the College’s partnership with MindEdge Learning since he recently participated in a case study with that organization, producing a final product as an attractive pamphlet touting specific examples of Saint Michael’s students benefiting from the partnership. MindEdge, founded in 1958 by Harvard and MIT educators, describes itself on its website as “a learning house with four different doors: higher education for credit, continuing education non-credit, professional development, and corporate solutions.” Todd also shared that, “in a new and innovative way we are capitalizing on the MindEdge partnership, Professor Robert Letovsky (business) and I have teamed up to offer professional certification as an option for his marketing and entrepreneurship courses.”

Todd Johnstone-Wright, who founded and for decades led the College’s Wilderness Program/Adventure Sports Center, has developed and will direct a new program for the College called Undergraduate Professional Endorsements, which aims to provide students with opportunities to prepare yourself for the workforce, gain professional experience, and receive credentials in areas of interest such as Fire & Rescue, Adventure Sports or student government to name a few life-changing signature programs. He turned over ASC leadership to his longtime assistant Eben Widlund.

Todd A. Johnstone-Wright, director of adventure sport for Saint Michael’s College, appears on this season 2 of the Netflix program Confession Tapes’ Episode titled “Deep Down.” This stemmed out of Todd’s ongoing work on the Angilika Graswald case which centers on a mysterious death involved kayaking on the Hudson River – Graswald was charged with killing her fiancé while they were on a kayaking trip. Todd is one of the world’s most highly certified authorities on kayaking, and so has lent his expertise to the case, including for this and other media reports about it.
