The Student Spotlight Series is a new feature to highlight Saint Michael’s students’ lives in all corners of campus. Students’ answers have been lightly edited for style and clarity.

Abbie Whitley ’26, from Londonderry, New Hampshire, is majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Spanish.

What brought you to Saint Michael’s College?

I came to Saint Michael’s College because of the lacrosse program, the tight-knit community of students and alumni, and the beautiful surrounding area.

Where do people see you on campus?

On campus, I’m part of the women’s lacrosse team, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), Hope Happens Here, and the Student Government Association (SGA) where I serve as the 2026 class Treasurer. I also participate in Cellular/Molecular Neuroscience research and work as a Teaching Assistant in the biology department.

What is your favorite thing about the academic experience at St. Mike’s?

My favorite thing about the academic experience at St. Mike’s is the support from professors, coaches, and advisors who want their students to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.

What is your favorite thing to do on campus?

My favorite thing to do on campus is to hang out with my friends and teammates.

How are you hoping your St. Mike’s education will prepare you for the future? (Do you have after graduation plans?)

After I graduate from St. Mike’s, I am hoping to continue my education and complete a master’s degree in speech language pathology and, ultimately, become a speech therapist.
