“(Un)familiar,” by Nico Allard-Krause is an exhibition about what it means to be human and where humanness begins.  Allard-Krause’s exhibit was on exhibit from Feb. 19 to Feb. 23, with a gallery reception on Friday, Feb. 23 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Artist Statement:

What does it mean to “be human?” Where does humanness begin and something “other” end? Growing up, I was always drawn in by horror movies, or scary stories, and was always told to explore “happier” topics. Instead, I found beauty in the uncomfortable and chose to shine a spotlight on misunderstood and vilified content.
