Current job title and employer and briefly describe what it is you do: I spent time in the non-profit sector, and ultimately state government developing, implementing, and overseeing HIV prevention programs.

Academic experience at Saint Michael's College help prepare you for your career: My SMC education has been invaluable in that I was able to complete a liberal arts degree, while at the same time mastering a very marketable skill. International studies were a huge part of the SMC community. I worked as a Student Assistant, had many native speaking friends and professors, and I spoke more Spanish than English for the entire 4 years. My fluency in Spanish has opened many doors for me.

Favorite memory or class from your time studying at St. Mike’s: Attending and competing at the American College Theatre Festival regionals. Chorale tour of England, Ireland, and Wales. Soloing in Handel’s Messiah in the chapel for an audience with standing room only.

Completed or are completing a graduate program, please provide the name of the degree and institution: Master of Arts in Education, New York University, 1999

Translated your volunteer experience at Saint Michael’s into giving back to your community after graduation: I also spent many years volunteering and coordinating activities for the AIDS Memorial Quilt.

Other information you would like to share or advice for incoming or current students: I was recently a guest on a podcast called Down To Wander, which shares more of my experiences in recent years.
