Information for Non-Degree Students

Applying to Take SMC Courses as a Non-Degree (Non-Matriculated) Student

If you are interested in taking courses as a non-degree (or non-matriculated) student and have not taken SMC courses in the past, the first step is to fill out the Request for Account/Pre-Registration Form. You will be notified once you have been set up as a student, and can then refer to the information below about accessing campus systems, parking, books, etc.

Access to Campus Network & Systems

You will need to be able to access the campus network, Mikenet. Through Mikenet, you’ll be able to access the mySMC portal, SMC email, Canvas (the SMC course management system), and KnightVision (our web-based student information system, which contains course schedule and registration information). You should receive an email (at the non-SMC email you provided on the Request for Account/Pre-Registration Form) with your ID number, and with further instructions for logging into Mikenet for the first time.

Transportation & Parking

Public transportation to campus is available via the Green Mountain Transit Blue Line, which stops at Saint Michael’s College every 20 minutes.

For additional information on parking on campus and/or to apply for a parking permit, please visit the SMC Parking website.
